I’m Dr. Rebbeca Lahann

For over 25 years, I’ve dedicated my career to advancing mental health and helping individuals lead values-aligned lives through innovative, compassionate, and evidence-based approaches.

As the Clinical Director of Spectrum Psychology and Wellness—a thriving multi-site group practice in Arizona—I’ve built a reputation for providing holistic care tailored to the unique needs of my clients. My integrative approach supports individuals navigating the intersections of aging and chronic health conditions, holistic sexuality, psychological resilience, and relational dynamics. One of my proudest contributions to the field has been introducing the concept of “sexual values” within the framework of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This approach bridges ACT principles with sex therapy, empowering individuals to align their sexual beliefs and behaviors with their core values. My forthcoming book delves into this framework, offering actionable, evidence-based tools to foster authenticity and fulfillment.

My journey into this field has been anything but traditional. I initially earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy at Arizona State University before spending nearly a decade in Marketing Intelligence at IBM in Boulder, Colorado.

During that time, I pursued advanced degrees in Counseling Psychology (M.A.) and Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), graduating with honors in both disciplines. Early in my career, I served as a women’s counselor at the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence and as a Victims Advocate with the Boulder County Police Department. Later, in Arizona, I worked with at-risk youth in K-12 educational settings and served as Senior Director at notMYkid, where I developed behavioral health programs promoting positive life choices.

Beyond my clinical work, I’m deeply committed to education, mentorship, and advancing the field of psychology. I’ve had the privilege of serving as President of the Arizona Psychological Association (AzPA), President of the Arizona Psychology Training Consortium (AzPTC), and as a Board Member of The Arizona Psychological Foundation (APF).

Currently, I supervise post-doctoral residents, chair AASECT’s Continuing Education Committee, and contribute to the AzPA Ethics Committee to uphold the highest standards of care and training for future psychologists.

speaker & educator

I’ve delivered keynote addresses and workshops at national conferences, including the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) Annual Conference, Southwest Love Fest, and the Arizona Psychological Association’s Annual Conferences. My presentations cover a wide range of topics, including values-aligned sexuality, intimacy across the lifespan, navigating jealousy, clinical work with geriatric patients, and the complexities of private practice competencies. My work has been featured in publications like The National Psychologist, PsychologistBrief.com, and in podcasts such as Sex Advice for Seniors and Loving Without Boundaries.

In addition to my clinical and academic work, I’ve served as a consultant for leading hospitals, including Banner Heart Hospital, Abrazo Central Campus, and HealthSouth East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the connection between physical health and emotional well-being, allowing me to better address complex relational and health challenges.

At the core of my work is my belief that everyone deserves a space where they feel seen, understood, and empowered. I’ve worked with individuals from diverse bio-psycho-social-sexual backgrounds, relational dynamics, and mental health presentations. As a sex-positive, gender, sexuality, and lifestyle-affirming therapist, I integrate evidence-based methodologies with a holistic approach to help clients align their strengths with their core values and create meaningful, authentic lives.

Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive recognition for my contributions to the field, including the Early Career Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association (APA), the Arizona Psychological Foundation’s Outstanding Post-Doctoral Award, and the Outstanding Early Career Psychologist Award. Through my clinical practice, leadership, and upcoming book, I remain committed to inspiring positive change and helping individuals lead lives deeply rooted in their values.
